Animated CDs Unique Approach to Marketing by Metropolitan Financial Corporation

Metropolitan Financial Corporation has launched a unique electronic marketing campaign aimed at both the residential and commercial real estate markets.

The Phoenix company brokers real estate loans throughout the state. It specializes in unique commercial properties in the $500,000 to $3 million range and also provides no-commission loan officers for residential real estate loans.

“We’ve successfully established our position in the market with a unique selling proposition for both the commercial side and the residential side,” says Pat Lindmark, president. “But we wanted to create a way in which we could creatively communicate our unique abilities to our target markets.”

Lindmark says the company knows the professional nature of its clients and needed to be able to reach them in an interactive manner, but doing it quickly and concisely.

The company opted to produce animated CD-ROM disks that can be played on any computer.

“We know that our customers are sophisticated enough to use the most current technology, but we also realize that many of their existing desktops at work might not be able to play DVDs,” he says. “CDs can still provide a rich experience while being compatible on nearly every existing computer out there.”

The CDs have interactive menus, photos and music allowing customers to quickly scan the company’s selling points, contact information or connect to Metropolitan’s Web site. One CD was produced for the residential real estate professional and the other for commercial real estate professional as well as the professionals who provide consulting for real estate investors.

Lindmark says the cost of the interactive CDs is comparable to a low-cost brochure, but they have substantially more appeal than a typical brochure.

“Curiosity compels the customer to open the CD,” he says. “When people see how different we are from banks and other institutions, we get a good number who contact us.”
