NBA Finals MVP Chauncey Billups and Rock Financial Sign Exclusive Endorsement Agreement
Livonia, MI November 19, 2004 -- Mortgage lender Rock Financial, a Quicken Loans company, has entered into an exclusive endorsement agreement with Detroit Pistons’ point guard Chauncey Billups, the MVP of the 2004 NBA Finals. The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
Rock Financial also is the Presenting Sponsor for the Detroit Pistons. A main component of the Billups’ endorsement, like the Presenting Sponsorship, will be charitable giving and community outreach.
As part of the agreement, Chauncey Billups and Rock Financial will participate in various community outreach programs, which will include giving away more than 7,000 tickets to underserved youth in the Detroit area and appearances at local Detroit public schools. (Detroit area youth organizations seeking Pistons tickets can submit a request via the internet at http://tickets.rockfinancial.com.) Rock Financial also will make a donation to Chauncey’s basketball camps.
“Chauncey feels strongly that he’s made a permanent home for his family here in Detroit,” said David Hall, Senior Vice President, Rock Financial. “He believes he has a responsibility to give back to the fans and the community. Rock Financial has long been active in local community efforts. Chauncey approached us seeking to become more involved with local youth organizations and charitable outreach. He’s also a Rock Financial client, which makes this an even better fit. We’re grateful to have him on our team.”
The agreement includes traditional marketing elements such as radio and television spots and outdoor advertisements that will feature Chauncey, a Rock Financial client, endorsing Rock Financial mortgage programs.

They are more than the team’s Presenting Sponsor to me, they also helped me buy my home,” said Billups. “Throughout their sponsorship of the Detroit Pistons Rock Financial has taken care of the fans as well as they take care of their clients. They made it possible for thousands of local youth to attend Pistons Games and our basketball clinics. Their commitment to this community matches my own.”
