December 30, 2004 -- JBS Consulting today announced the release of CompDB 1.0, a robust application for real estate appraisers that allows easy storage, analysis, and retrieval of data for real estate sales, listings and leases.
CompDB is a robust application that is designed to make it easy to store, analyze, and retrieve data on real estate sales, listings and leases. It allows appraisers to turn raw data into a report-ready layout in seconds. Data can be entered through an intuitive form, or imported from a spreadsheet or other application, populating over 150 unique fields, covering every aspect of real estate appraisal, from land and commercial to apartments and residential.
Once the data is stored within the database, the advanced filtering tools let appraisers pull out only the comparables that match the criteria they're looking for. Then, with a click of a button, the data is prepared in a customized report format, and ready to be cut and pasted directly into an appraisal, marketing material, or electronic media.

The automated entry form allows you to quickly and easily enter comp data – even if it is incomplete. As you're entering data, the system will show you if a duplicate entry already exists within the database. Many of the fields can be set to default values, and many others will automatically calculate based on various field entries.
CompDB is easy to use, easy to upgrade, and easy to customize. And since it can initially handle up to 4.5 million records, it offers plenty of room for growth. The database features multiple storage engines including full transaction support with commit, rollback, crash recovery and low-level locking capabilities. Also, query caching delivers significant performance benefits and, with database replication, many slave servers can run off a single master server, increasing both speed and robustness.
The system also features a robust security system with advanced permissions and support for SSL transport-layer encryption provides robust application security. Full text indexing and searching enables rapid searching of text fields for words and phrases. This includes relevance rankings, exact phrase matching and Boolean search operators.
