ResortQuest Breckenridge Home to the Highest Ski Lift in North America

Breckenridge Ski Resort continues work on the much-anticipated Peak 8 summit lift, the Imperial Express SuperChair. This new, high-speed quad will be the highest chairlift in North America, topping out at an astronomical 12,840 ft altitude. The new lift will expand the resort by over 400 acres, providing access to advanced chutes and bowls previously “hike to only” terrain. Crews have been working through the night in an effort to speed construction and helicopters can be seen circling the sky above the town of Breckenridge, hauling massive pillars and lift seats into the famed Imperial Bowl. Officials are optimistic that the new lift will be ready to ride this winter.

“As the highest lift in North America, accessing some of Breckenridge's most amazing intermediate and expert terrain, this lift is the crowning touch on an already fabulous resort,” Roger McCarthy, chief operating officer for Breckenridge Ski Resort.
