New Online Tool Gives Home Sellers An Edge

South Florida-based ViaText has launched a new service to give home sellers an edge: classified ads that can be downloaded on mobile phones. The service is available exclusively online at http://www.viatext.info/.

Sellers can create a listing in as little as 60 seconds, and the service is currently being offered free to both buyers and sellers.

In this increasingly tough real estate market, home sellers must figure out a way to reach potential buyers through as many channels as possible. Until now, sellers or their agents could market their property through print and online listings as well as the traditional "For Sale" yard signs. ViaText combines the best of both worlds. Sellers create a listing with the relevant descriptive information and are given a unique code, which they post on their "For Sale" sign. When interested buyers enter the code in their mobile phones, they are automatically sent a free text message which contains the property listing.

ViaText creates a more efficient experience for both buyers and sellers. Buyers have the convenience of knowing key property details before contacting a seller, while a seller has the ability to provide the relevant information 24 hours a day. Furthermore, sellers can register for a free account at http://www.viatext.info/ and track the number of leads generated by their text message ad.

According to CTIA, the wireless trade association, more than 158 billion text messages were sent in 2006. This represented a growth of 95% over 2005. As text messaging becomes more mainstream, sellers offering content available via text will clearly have a better chance of getting their message delivered to their target audience.

For an example of what ViaText listings look like, sellers are invited to text INFO 101 to 70589 to see a demonstration.
