DNA Creative Media's ReNew Orleans Gains Support from Mayor Nagin and LED

In an effort to step up rebuilding while bringing much needed renewed national attention, The City of New Orleans has reached an understanding with Los Angeles based marketing and production firm DNA Creative Media, Inc. to create a community center in Mid-City New Orleans.

The agreement signed by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and DNA Creative Media, Inc. CEO Damon Harman, provides DNA two acres of land that will be devoted to the construction of the community center. A representative from the Mayor's office will work directly with DNA Creative Media, Inc. in order to ensure the project progresses smoothly.

This model of neighborhood development encourages others to invest and will help to accelerate the rebuilding of New Orleans.
The construction of the community center will be documented to form a television series called ReNew Orleans, the show will be hosted by Academy Award winner Louis Gossett, Jr. In addition to the construction of the community center, ReNew Orleans will focus on the culture of New Orleans, including its distinctive food, music and people. Construction of the center is being funded privately by major national brands represented by DNA Creative Media, Inc. . Construction begins in spring 2007, with the series set to air during the fall. Harman is currently negotiating national syndication for the series.

"DNA Creative Media, Inc. is bringing an exciting public/private partnership to the City of New Orleans," said Mayor C. Ray Nagin. "This model of neighborhood development encourages others to invest and will help to accelerate the rebuilding of New Orleans."

"The support and response of New Orleans for our project has been tremendous," said Harman. "The personal attention from the mayor and Louisiana Economic Development has made this project and television series happen faster than any Hollywood studio could."

"This is a great project for New Orleans which is undergoing an energetic transformation right now. The focus and attention that ReNew Orleans will bring to this region, and the State of Louisiana in general, will clearly demonstrate that the people of Louisiana are not only successfully rebuilding but also creating a future filled with new opportunities," Donald M. Pierson, Jr. CEcD of the Louisiana Economic Development.

Harman founded DNA Creative Media, Inc. in 2006 as a full service advertising/marketing agency with a niche specialization in branded programming. DNA is promoting a new type of branded entertainment, with full sponsorship involvement. Each of the ReNew Orleans sponsors is directly involved in all aspects of construction and the television series surrounding of the center. Using this new model, Harman hopes to produce multiple seasons of the ReNew Orleans program. "We hope to improve New Orleans block by block," said Harman.
