New Wakefield Development Company Coastal Division Partners with Communities in Schools
Wakefield Development Company's
Coastal Division announced a new partnership with Communities In
Schools (CIS) of Brunswick County, Inc., a dropout prevention program
that helps young people succeed in school. Through the CIS program Lots
for Learning, Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division will
donate $5000 per quarter as long as lots remain in the developing
Kingfish Bay and San Rio Ocean & River Club master-planned
communities.
"We are honored to support CIS and
enable them to make a positive impact on youth throughout Brunswick
County." said Jim Wiseman, president of Wakefield Development Company's
Coastal Division. "We look forward to becoming more involved in this
community as San Rio and Kingfish Bay continue to grow."
Listed by Worth Magazine as one of
the nation's top 100 charities, CIS is a community-based organization
that strives to help kids stay in school, graduate and become
productive members of the community. CIS programs include
Adopt-A-School Partnerships, Volunteer Recruitment and Training, After
School Programs, Teen Court, Family and Literacy Resource Centers, and
Academic Scholarships.
"We are so pleased that Wakefield
Development Company's Coastal Division has become a partner in helping
us educate children and families, thereby making Brunswick County a
more desirable place to live," said Leigh Everette Milligan, CIS
Community Relations Director.
Wakefield Development Company entered
the coastal market in January with the launch of Kingfish Bay, located
in Calabash, N.C., and San Rio Ocean & River Club, located in
Shallotte, N.C. Residences at Kingfish Bay will feature a nautical
theme and will include townhomes and condos with spectacular views of
the Calabash River and natural habitat. Residences at San Rio will have
scenic views and will include single-family as well as multi-family
homes; a spectacular Caribbean-themed amenities center is also planned. |
