Independent research has shown that home shoppers prefer to use real estate agents that have a full functioning website as opposed to agents with no web presence or just a page on their company’s website. Out of 1200 homebuyers, nearly 78% (936 shoppers) said that using agents with a website made a substantially large difference in their home buying experience, particularly with finding available homes at their leisure without sales pressure. This trend is expected to continue in the near future as more people from generation X and Y (those that have grown up with internet technology) become first time homebuyers. What does this mean for real estate agents? This could mean that agents without a sufficient web presence may start to see a drop in their business in the near future. “Websites are not an avenue that should be skimped on with regard to business expenses” Justin Hall of z57 Internet Solutions stated. “A website is a direct reflection of your quality of service. It is just as important as your traditional first impression because in the 21st century, it is your first impression!”
