BOSTON DESIGN CENTER ATTRACTS 685 ATTENDEES TO “LIVING BY DESIGN”

Boston, Massachusetts. “Living by Design,” a day of design inspiration, co-sponsored by House Beautiful magazine and the Boston Design Center, attracted an unprecedented turnout last Saturday, October 20. 685 area residents turned out to learn more about designing, creating and entertaining in a beautiful home.

House Beautiful’s Editor-at-Large, Miguel Flores-Vianna, gave a keynote address and slideshow presentation. Many of House Beautiful’s most beautiful homes were presented. The day continued with a presentation by nationally recognized author Anna Kasabian, who presented her latest book, “The New Home Color Book.”

Attendees were treated to a box lunch and a number of seminars throughout the 75 showrooms of the Boston Design Center. There was a wine tasting, sponsored by Jenn-Air, a floral design demonstration by Pauline Runkel, table setting by Lux Bond & Green, cooking demonstrations by the Federalist and Sel De La Terre, Venetian Stucco decorative painting workshop by Rafael Jaimes-Branger and a faux painting workshop by Julie Berson.

Additionally, guests were offered complimentary consultations with top interior designers – a great opportunity to get direction on how to begin the process of creating or re-creating a room or home.

“In this sad time of war and instability, people are seeking ways to make their homes as warm and safe and inviting as they possibly can. New Englanders’ came out in droves for the inspiration offered by our speakers, the opportunity to learn about fine home furnishings, and the chance to consult with some of our interior designers. We were overwhelmed by the turnout, and delighted to have so many new visitors to the Boston Design Center,” said Duncan Gilkey, President of Boston Design Center. “Anyone who missed the Saturday event is always welcome to visit us or call us at 617-338-5427, and to set-up a complimentary appointment with one of our consulting designers in our ‘Designer-on-Call’ program.”
