TOP ATLANTA REALTOR MARK SPAIN SETS ANOTHER ACHIEVEMENT MILESTONE

GA —RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Realtor Mark Spain has just reached his 30th birthday and has already sold more real estate in his career than most real estate agents sell in a lifetime. In fact, with $87 million in gross sales last year, it is safe to say he annually sells more real estate than most Realtors do in their entire careers.

The latest milestone on Mark Spain's incredible road of success was bestowed upon him by REALTOR® Magazine, a publication put out by the National Association of Realtors. The September issue ranked the top 100 real estate salespeople in the U.S.. Mark not only made the list, he nearly topped it by taking the number five spot on the prestigious roster. Only three other Realtors in Georgia appeared on the list, ranking at the number 40, 66, and 97 spots.

The magazine compiled the ranking from the data of more than 1,000 multi-million dollar producing real estate professionals in the country. The top 100 people were selected using a formula that factored in closed transaction sides for 2000 and sales volume for that same year.

Spain finished last year with 487 transactions and total sales of $87 million. These business statistics put him in the lead for sales volume at all metro Atlanta RE/MAX Greater Atlanta offices and placed him in a very elite class of Realtors beyond the perimeters of Georgia. Atlanta native and University of Georgia graduate Mark Spain consistently ranks as one of the top RE/MAX agents worldwide year after year. The hundreds of RE/MAX affiliates around the globe total some 54,000 RE/MAX sales associates.

"Achieving the number five spot on REALTOR® Magazine's top 100 ranking could definitely be counted as our largest and most prestigious award yet," stated Mark Spain. "It goes beyond the perimeters of metro Atlanta or even the RE/MAX organization and encompasses the entire residential real estate market."

This same magazine spotlighted Mark in 2000 as part of a special feature on the top 30 real estate sales professionals under 30 in the U.S.. Each year, he raises the bar higher and, like a seasoned professional, attains those goals. For 2001, Mark and his real estate team are on pace to shatter his $100 million goal for annual residential sales volume.
