New E-Course for Real Estate Investors

RealData has released an electronic course for investors and brokers, Understanding Real Estate Investments. The course helps the student develop a solid understanding of income-property investments. It covers topics ranging from simple mortgage calculations and time value of money through property analysis, discounted cash flow and valuation.

RealData designed the e-course as an exceptionally readable alternative to more formal – and often intimidating – texts on income-property analysis. The course provides many examples and uses simple Microsoft Excel templates to illustrate some of the concepts. The student can download the templates from links within the course and can also take an online quiz at the end of each chapter to test his or her understanding.

The course is available for Windows as a self-executing file that presents a browser-like interface. Students who would like to view or print the entire course at once can also download an optional version in Adobe Acrobat format. The course is also available for the Apple Macintosh in Adobe Acrobat format only.

RealData, which is celebrating its twentieth year in the commercial real estate software business, is best known for its Real Estate Investment Analysis software, now in its eleventh generation. REIA is an MS-Excel-based analysis and presentation package that allows a user to project the potential economic benefits involved in properties such as apartments, office buildings, shopping centers or industrial sites. The program creates detailed 10-year projections of the income, operating expenses, financing, cash flows, resale and federal tax implications.

Many of the examples used in the e-course were created with REIA and the course, therefore makes an excellent companion to the software. For a limited time, RealData is offering the course at no charge to both previous and new buyers of the standard version of REIA, v.11.
