Furniture Today Magazine Honors Furnitureland South Associates in America the Beautiful Contest
Furnitureland South, the World’s Largest Home Furnishings Showplace, was honored to have two of their Sales and Design Associates receive two of the four awards given out by leading industry publication, Furniture Today, in the publication’s recent contest, America the Beautiful, honoring the “unsung heroes and heroines of retail.”
The contest, sponsored by Furniture Today, included 4 categorical awards: Capturing the Vision; Best Bedroom; Best Living Room; and Most Dramatic Makeover. Two of these categories were awarded to Furnitureland South Sales and Design associates, Martha Vaughan and Nanette Hurley, respectively.
Martha Vaughan, a sales and design professional at Furnitureland South, won “Capturing the Vision” category. Vaughan won for her work helping customers from Kuwait furnish their home. With only floor plans to guide her, Martha worked with her client’s specific tastes and needs to furnish a home that was half a world away for $144,000. Nanette Hurley, also of Furnitureland South, won the “Best Living Room” category for helping to create a breathtaking environment that not only was the family’s living room, but also a music room. The result was a beautiful mingling of furniture, accessories and some of her client’s favorite items, including a baby grand piano. Furnitureland South has over one million square feet of home furnishings and accessories and two complete Design Centers filled with thousands of fabric choices where Nanette was able to make her client’s dream come true for just over $5,000.
Two other awards were also given out at Furniture Today’s Leadership Conference. The “Dramatic Makeover” Category for helping a client turn a living room with a dorm look into something more classic and tailored for $13,000 while another was awarded for bedroom category where a husband surprised his wife with a quick makeover for $1210.
