Whoever you are, chances are some part of your life, living space, workspace, or mind space is cluttered, or disorganized. Does this mean you are mentally unbalanced? Not necessarily. Does it mean you are likely to get frustrated looking for things that aren’t where you thought they were, or wasting time trying to figure out where they are?” Probably. Then again, you could find things you weren’t looking for, (like a moldy orange peel you lost last Christmas), or lose things you want to keep, (like that winning lottery ticket). If this sounds familiar, help is on the way!
There are members of the “Professional Organizers in Canada “ somewhere near you, geared up and ready to organize your filing cabinet, closet, room, house, yard, office, or anything you let them organize. They will shed light in the darkness, they will “declutter”, promote harmony, install order, and you will pay for it - happily.
Look at the definitions:
Clutter - an untidy state, confusion, disarray, litter. Muddle. Pandemonium. How did things get like that? Are you a slacker? A rebel? Collector? Procrastinator? Too busy? Does the history really matter? Can your mess be straightened out, “organized”, and the mechanism put in place to maintain - Order: harmony, neatness, organization, symmetry, calm, control, peace, and tranquility? Yes.
With winter coming on in the northern hemisphere, we are about to spend a greater proportion of our time indoors. Ideally this is the time when you want to bask in the harmonious tranquility of your home, and labor in the efficient organization of your work place. Conversely, some of us will muddle around in a confused state, and labor in pandemonium.
The ability to be organized is learned behavior. No one is born organized (except, perhaps, some of our mothers). In fact, our natural inclination would probably be to Clutter. Some willingly learn the skills it takes while others choose to clutter.
But, to be fair, the ones who are willing can sometimes be so bogged down with the day-to-day insanity of today’s fast paced society that the concept of order becomes a fond memory. Then there are the willing ones whose sense of perfectionism is actually the undoing of order and is instead an invitation to clutter. If it won’t be perfect then why bother? And when the perfectionist decides it’s time to tackle the mess, it’s so overwhelming it’s put off for another day. Honestly, who can blame them?
Eventually, the piles of stuff, the books, the newspapers and magazines never read (but will be, some day), the lost documents, keys, pets, shoes, etc., becomes too much. The wanna-be-born-organized perfectionist realizes it’s gone way too far - especially when the bed hasn’t been slept in for months because of all the clothes piled on it! The spouse is threatening abandonment, the walls are bulging, the floors sagging, the phone is ringing, heard but hidden amid the rubble, the pool table is piled with laundry. Does this poor, buried and confused purist decide to conquer the chaos once and for all? Yes! But this one looks around and says, “Oh boy. Okay. I need help!”
To the rescue comes the Professional Organizer! Yes, these angels of mercy do exist right here in our fair city. They will come to you with open minds, sympathy, kindness, and best of all, answers. They will work with you to sort, purge, assign a home, containerize and equalize the accumulated debris in your life. They will magically make your space larger, more comfortable, more user friendly, your office more efficient, and all to suit your individual needs and lifestyle. Order will be restored.
