Dancing Bear Iron Works, a leading provider of mailbox security features, today announced the public debut of the Mail Custodian™, a reinforced enclosure system designed to prevent vandalism of cluster mailboxes.
As the nation’s leader in mailbox theft, Phoenix has become a haven for thieves looking to benefit from the nearly 50,000 cluster mailboxes throughout the Valley. Using a patented enclosure design, the Mail Custodian provides a metal barrier around the back end of cluster mailboxes – the area most frequently targeted by thieves. The system is secured using a concrete slab at the base of the mailboxes.
"The Mail Custodian represents our dedication to providing unmatched mail security to the community," said Richard D. Hill, president of Dancing Bear Iron Works. "The threat of ID theft through mailbox vandalism is especially prime right now because of the upcoming tax season and the mailing of tax returns. You can be sure thieves know those checks are waiting in Valley mailboxes."
Adding to the Mail Custodian’s security is the availability of the hockey-puck lock, which uses a rounded, shackleless, solid steel design. Accessible only by key, the locks are pick-resistant.
