The Oxford Princeton Programme Brings Oil Retail Marketing Course to the United States for the First
The Oxford Princeton Programme, the world’s leading provider of training solutions to the energy, commodity and derivatives industries, brings Retail Marketing – Managing Brands, Networks and Outlets to Miami, FL for the first time. The course teaches the essential disciplines to become a successful retailer.
Disciplines include: · How to systematically identify and analyze markets and competitors · How to methodically plan the best uses for resources · How to measure performance against objectives · How to understand customers' needs and wants, as well as competitors' strengths and weaknesses
"After teaching retail training courses around the world over the last five years, it’s good to come to the United States, the heartland of the retail oil industry,” said instructors Stuart Howell and John Smeddle. “Our combined 60 years of experience provides delegates with a unique perspective. With career backgrounds in Shell and BP, our practical and accountable retail business management knowledge singles us out from industry theorists, along with using a “disciple training” technique to carry messages and describe what works and what doesn’t. This offers delegates a hands-on experience to allow them to become a more successful retailer.”
Stuart Howell, course instructor and principal of Castle Hampton Management Consultancy, advises oil companies, retail and city institutions. Howell served as head of BP's retail business in the UK and director of several of its daughter companies, while acting as UK’s oil industry representative on the Government's ' Better Regulation Task Force '. He recently designed and managed retail courses throughout Europe and in Malaysia, South Africa, India and Russia.
John Smeddle, senior lecturer and advisor to EUROPIA on matters relating to the introduction of the EURO currency, held numerous executive posts in Shell including Shell International, and was recently marketing director of its companies in Hong Kong and China. Smeddle held other prestigious positions including, retail European convergence manager in The Hague, and leader of Shell's European retail strategy team. Retail Marketing – Managing Brands, Networks and Outlets is a three-day intensive course. The scheduled date for Miami, FL is May 10 - 12, 2004.
