gCells Inc. Announces the Release of gPortals™ Facility Management Internet Portal

gCells Inc. is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the gPortals Facility Management Internet Portal -- a Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software.

gPortals is a Web-based program, or “Portal”, that helps owners and managers run their buildings safely, smoothly, and profitably. It requires no special installation, very little training, and is licensed through a simple monthly subscription fee.

A building has a single gPortals interface (known as a “gPortal”), accessible via the Internet. Through it, tenants, security, maintenance, employees, and the public can communicate, store information, and enjoy the many conveniences offered by the gPortals modules.

“gPortals is the kind of software that can make the small guy, be it a small apartment complex or a regional real estate firm, look just like the big guy,” said Dr. David Hary, gCells Company President. “It provides the customer with a clean, professional interface for their building. That translates into immediate sales benefits. Potential tenants like to see that their future landlord is consistent, accessible, and up to date. All in all, it really evens the playing field.”

Managers, Tenants, and Guests Communicate Smoothly, Safely, and Efficiently

The idea behind gPortals is that everyone involved in a building, be they tenants, managers, workers, or guests, should have one, simple place where they can find and post information. If a tenant needs to do anything from submit a maintenance request to download the latest security and safety information, all he or she needs to do is type the address of the building’s gPortal into a Web Browser. Similarly, if a member of the public is looking for information on the building (or looking for available rental/leasing space on the Web), he or she can browse through the custom Web Site that gPortals generates for the building.

In order to make gPortals as accessible as possible, it has been designed with multi lingual support. Managers can publish information in a whole range of languages, thus accomodating today’s increasingly polylingual environment.

A New Direction in Facility Management: Small, Affordable, and Integrative

“gPortals is intended to reach people who were turned off by or couldn’t afford existing facility management packages,” said Dr. Hary. Indeed, the gPortals pricing scheme is targeted at companies who demand considerable bang for their buck, starting at $29.00 per month. gCells Inc intends to justify this very low cost by making gPortals easy to use and available to a wide variety of people. “Gone are the days when programs like this are priced in the six figures and available only to the very largest real estate companies,” said Dr. Hary.

Along with the price comes a philosophy of ease of use. “We talked to customers of existing applications and found that they were overwhelmed by the amount of training required,” said Christopher Bissell, director of programming at gCells Inc. “They were attending training seminars, taking extensive notes, and still had no idea how to navigate through innumerable screens of data. We designed the gPortals interface with the idea that the average person could sit down at the computer and at the end of a session can have accomplished something truly useful.”

gCells Inc to Continue to Extend Functionality of gPortals™

“gPortals will always be growing,” said Dr. Hary. “Because we are an Internet application, we are willing and able to respond to customer concerns and suggestions without embarking on a costly upgrade process.”

gPortals™ Availability

gPortals™ can be set up at any time by navigating to http://www.gportals.com. There, users can go through a simple sign up process and quickly set up a gPortal for their own organization. Doing so is risk-free, for gCells is currently offering a 30 trial period during which gPortals can be freely used by the client.
