Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division announced a new partnership with Communities In Schools (CIS) of Brunswick County, Inc., a dropout prevention program that helps young people succeed in school. Through the CIS program Lots for Learning, Wakefield Development Company's Coastal Division will donate $5000 per quarter as long as lots remain in the developing Kingfish Bay and San Rio Ocean & River Club master-planned communities.
In an effort to step up rebuilding while bringing much needed renewed national attention, The City of New Orleans has reached an understanding with Los Angeles based marketing and production firm DNA Creative Media, Inc. to create a community center in Mid-City New Orleans. The agreement signed by New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and DNA Creative Media CEO Damon Harman, provides DNA two acres of land that will be devoted to the construction of the community center.
